One UI 7 has done nothing but take the spotlight over the last few months with multiple delays, and the Galaxy Watch hasn’t seen much action in that time. A new report indicates that Samsung’s One UI 7 Watch, based on Wear OS 6, for the Galaxy Watch is finally beginning to show signs of life.
One UI 6 Watch only started to get pushed to new Galaxy wearables in late 2024, which means we’re still a ways away from seeing the final release of the upcoming version. One UI 6 brought a few neat features to Galaxy devices, including better sleep analysis and health tracking. The next version, one would hope, brings even more to the table.
We might not have to wait long to find out exactly what Wear OS 6 has to offer on the Galaxy Watch series, even if it isn’t available yet. According to a new post from @Alfaturk16 on X/Twitter, Samsung has begun building the beta One UI 7 OS for the Galaxy Watch 7. The new version appeared on Samsung’s servers and carries the L310XXU1ZYDA model identity.
With a server sighting like this, very little is known about the software version. Samsung is expected to try to incorporate more of Gemini into the Galaxy Watch series, possibly pushing out Google Assistant altogether. The pattern. Google has already noted that Google Assistant is sunsetting, with Gemini set to take its place in 2025. That will likely go for Samsung’s Galaxy Watch devices with Wear OS 6, as well.
We could also see some changes to health tracking, as it seems every single new OS brings some changes to the health suite. That’s a welcome change, as long as it doesn’t mean introducing a subscription to use certain features of Samsung’s health offerings.
Again, we won’t know more for some time, and there is no telling if Wear OS 6 on the Galaxy Watch series will see the same delay treatment we’ve become accustomed to.
